How this count is put together
The headline figure is the number of destinations an Antigua passport holder can enter without applying for a traditional visa in advance, drawn from the Henley Passport Index 2026. It combines three distinct categories of access: destinations requiring no visa at all for short stays, destinations granting a visa on arrival, and destinations requiring only a simple electronic travel authorisation such as the UK ETA or the EU's forthcoming ETIAS.
We use 150+ consistently across this site. It would be easy to publish a larger number by counting territories separately or by treating every e-visa as visa-free access, and some sites do. An inflated count is worth nothing at a border, and it costs the client's trust the first time they discover the gap.
Two caveats are worth stating plainly. First, an electronic authorisation is a quick online step with a fee, not an embassy visa — but it is still a step, so frictionless does not mean paperwork-free. Second, the United States is a significant exception that became harder rather than easier in 2026, covered fully on its own page so that nobody is surprised at a consulate.

Beyond the list
What CARICOM and OECS membership adds
Antigua & Barbuda is a full member of both the Caribbean Community and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States. That carries something a visa-free list does not capture: recognised rights for its citizens to live, work and move across member states, rather than simply to visit them.
For most of the families we advise this is a secondary consideration behind British and European access. It becomes genuinely substantive if the Caribbean ever turns into a real base — a second home, a business presence, or a retirement plan — at which point the difference between a travel document and a regional citizenship is considerable.
